Colts' Manning scheduled for X-ray on neck

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning is scheduled to undergo an X-ray of his neck Wednesday, but the team may not immediately release updates on his health.

Colts coach Jim Caldwell said Wednesday he had not been informed of Manning's status.

"As soon as they finish and complete (the X-ray), I'm sure they'll give word and at some point in time we'll get the information to you," Caldwell told reporters, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Manning has undergone three surgeries on his neck in 19 months, including a Sept. 8 fusion surgery. He has remained on the active roster in hopes of practicing before the end of the season.

The Colts have struggled to an 0-11 record without Manning. Dan Orlovskyovertook the starting quarterback position from Curtis Painter on Tuesday.
