Bengals WR Green says exam showed only bone bruise in knee

Bengals rookie wide receiver A.J. Green said he will sit out practice Wednesday and will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens, according to multiple reports.

Green suffered a hyperextended right knee on his only catch in last week's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers -- a 36-yard touchdown reception -- and sat out the second half.

Green told the Bengals' official website an MRI exam revealed only a bone bruise in the knee. The test also revealed no ligament damage, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer.

"I feel pretty good. It's just a little stiff and I'm taking it day by day and resting it. We'll see how it goes through the whole week," Green said, according to The Enquirer.

The Bengals seemed to have dodged a bullet that Green didn't suffer ligament damage. His absence would be a huge blow to the Bengals, as he leads the team -- and all NFL rookies -- in receptions (41), receiving yards (635) and receiving touchdowns (six).

Jerome Simpson and Andre Caldwell would likely start if Green sits out.

The Bengals also held out cornerback Nate Clements (knee), safety Chris Crocker (knee), defensive end Jonathan Fanene (illness), cornerback Adam Jones (groin), tight end Donald Lee (foot), running back Brian Leonard (knee), defensive end Frostee Rucker (knee) and safety Gibril Wilson (ankle) from practice Wednesday.
