Report: Lions sign ex-Cowboys guard Davis following bye week

The Detroit Lions have signed veteran Pro Bowl offensive lineman Leonard Davis, his agent, Ryan Tollner, told The Detroit News.

The newspaper reported Davis worked out with the Lions this past Thursday during their bye week, the second time he's worked out with the team this season. Davis tried out for the Lions during the offseason but did not earn a roster spot.

Davis, 33, has been a free agent since leaving the Dallas Cowboys following the end of the 2010 season. He was a three-time Pro Bowl selection during his four-year run with the Cowboys. The News reported that it is not known what corresponding move the Lions made to free up a spot on their active roster for Davis.

The Lions visit the Chicago Bears in Week 10.
