Vikings scratch DB Winfield, WR Berrian for Packers tilt

MINNEAPOLIS -- Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield and receiver Bernard Berrian were among the players who are inactive Sunday for Minnesota's game against Green Bay.

Winfield was listed as doubtful with a neck injury, but Berrian was a healthy scratch Sunday for the second time in three weeks. He had his most productive game of the season last week against the Bears, catching five passes for 54 yards. But Michael Jenkins got the start for him against the Packers in rookie quarterback Christian Ponder's first career start.

The Vikings activated rookie defensive backs Brandon Burton and Mistral Raymond to try to fill in for Winfield and cornerback Chris Cook, who was arrested Saturday on domestic assault charges. Asher Allen was in the starting lineup opposite Cedric Griffin and Tyrell Johnson started for injured safety Jamarca Sanford (concussion) to take on one of the league's most prolific passing offenses.

Starting center John Sullivan, who was listed as doubtful with a concussion, also was inactive. Joe Berger started in his place.

For the Packers, defensive end Ryan Pickett was active after sustaining a concussion in practice Thursday. He missed practice on Friday and was listed as questionable.

The Packers are without cornerback Sam Shields, who has a concussion, and left tackle Chad Clifton, who missed his second straight game with an injured hamstring. Marshall Newhouse started again at left tackle after missing Friday's practice for personal reasons.
