Stephen Ross has patiently watched the wreckage unfold and is "very frustrated," The Miami Herald reported Wednesday, citing a close associate of the owner.
Coach Tony Sparano's future could come down to how the Dolphins fare against Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos on Sunday, the newspaper reported, but Ross isn't entirely sold on making a switch in-season.
The source shared that Ross was a volatile rainbow of emotions during Monday night's loss to the New York Jets.
"At times, he was very (ticked) off," the associate told The Herald. "And other times, he laughed it off because he's sitting there with friends and it's embarrassing to watch this when you're there entertaining friends."
The newspaper stated that Ross -- while reportedly consulting with former Browns and Jets coach Eric Mangini -- hasn't pulled the trigger on Sparano because the players have told the owner they still believe in the coach. But eight consecutive losses dating to last season are testing Ross' patience.
In a highly awkward development, the Dolphins have selected this Sunday to celebrate Tebow (read: the opponent's starting quarterback) as part of "Gator Day," which will honor the University of Florida -- and dishonor their struggling coach.
