Ex-Patriot Morris among running backs to try out with Chiefs

Facing the rest of the season without running back Jamaal Charles, the Kansas City Chiefs worked out five running backs on Wednesday, a league source told NFL Network's Jason La Canfora.

The tryout included Mike Cox, Jalen Parmele, Dimitri Nance, Sammy Morris and Chris Jennings.

The Chiefs placed Charles, their best offensive player, on injured reserve Wednesday with what initial tests have indicated was a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
