Judge postpones New Jersey court date for Titans' Britt

HOBOKEN, N.J. -- A municipal judge in New Jersey has postponed a court date for Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt.

Britt, 23, was scheduled to stand trial Tuesday on charges stemming from an incident in June, when Hoboken police suspected him of carrying a marijuana cigar.

Britt has pleaded not guilty to three disorderly person charges in the case.

Britt didn't show up in Hoboken municipal court, where the case was postponed to a date to be determined.

The former Rutgers star has had seven incidents involving police since 2009. He previously pleaded guilty to a speeding arrest in his hometown of Bayonne and also faces legal troubles in Tennessee.

The NFL has declined to sanction Britt, who is leading the AFC in receiving yards this season with 271.
