Waiting for work, Dhani Jones not running away from future

Dhani Jones isn't unlike many NFL veterans in that he's still looking for work.

But unlike some others, Jones has options. It's just that not all of them are on a football field.

A veteran of 10 NFL seasons, the past four with the Bengals, Jones recently told the Cincinnati Enquirer that he has talked with four different teams about playing, but so far hasn't had any results. It leaves Jones not knowing exactly what his future holds.

"I'm living my future as long as you're living in the present and realize how beautiful life is," Jones said. "There is an element of what is going to happen next but instead of being negative about it, I'm going to embrace it and live it."

Jones has projects brewing off the field and on camera. Although his television series "Dhani Tackles the Globe" ended after two seasons, he's involved in the reality/game show "Ton of Cash," which debuted on VH1 on Aug. 17, and this fall, he'll also have a Big Ten Network show called "Live Big," which follows philanthropic efforts of students and alumni.

"The experiences of the past four seasons have allowed me to mature and understand how to balance things more," Jones said. "I'm excited to see what does happen and watch to see how things unfold, whether it is on the field or off the field."

Chances are if you don't see Jones on an NFL field this fall, you'll still see him somewhere.
