Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Winston Justice underwent a successful surgery on his left knee on Tuesday. The procedure was performed by surgeon James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala.
The operation removed a bone chip in the knee. Justice missed three games in December because of the condition.
Amid reports on Monday that Justice could require further microfracture surgery, CSNPhilly.com cited a high-ranking team source as saying there's "absolutely no reason" to believe Justice is suffering from a career-threatening injury.
Justice injured the knee in the Eagles' win over the Houston Texans in Week 13. Coach Andy Reid downplayed the injury as a hyper-extension. Justice missed two games before playing against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16. He then sat out the following week against the Dallas Cowboys.
Justice told reporters he was 100 percent heading into the NFC Divisional playoff against the Green Bay Packers, but he was pulled during the fourth quarter after an error-filled performance.
