5. Terrell Owens (Cowboys) vs. Eagles, 2006
The marriage between Owens and Eagles got off to a strong start (don't they always with T.O.?) as the team started 13-1. Owens was averaging a touchdown a game before fracturing his fibula in mid-December, an injury most thought would keep him out of the Super Bowl if the Eagles got there. They did and Owens played well in a losing effort.
That was the beginning of the end for Owens in Philadelphia. He held out for a new contract, started bickering with quarterback Donovan McNabb, and publicly continued his contract complaints throughout 2005. It led to his suspension and deactivation for the remainder of the season, and eventually his release. The division-rival Cowboys took all of four days to sign T.O. to a three-year, $25 million deal.
Owens was met by chants of "T.O.D." (a reference to an overdose on medication weeks earlier) upon his return to the City of Brotherly Love. He finished with just three catches for 45 yards, and was sulking by himself on the bench late in the game. Meanwhile, McNabb threw for 354 yards and two TDs, and rushed for another in a 38-24 Eagles win.
