The Saints took the opening kickoff 80 yards downfield for a Mark Ingram touchdown plunge, looking good in the process. They blocked a punt for a touchdown on a night honoring Steve Gleason (who famously blocked the punt against Atlanta for a touchdown when the Superdome reopened after Hurricane Katrina) in a bit of beautiful NFL symmetry. After that, the offenses slowed down, with Atlanta finding a bit of life on a Roddy White touchdown (he lives!), but other than that, the rest of the first half was uneventful. In the second half, Devonta Freeman got cooking and crossed the century mark (again) and found the end zone twice (again). He's good, and not giving up this backfield any time soon after Tevin Coleman coughed up a fumble in the first half. Drew Brees kept his touchdown streak alive by hooking up with Benjamin Watson (who had a career night), and Ingram plowed into the end zone for a second time to give New Orleans a cushy lead late in the fourth quarter. Atlanta gobbled up some yards trying to come back, but on this night the game belonged to the Saints, as evidenced by Cameron Jordan's game-sealing forced fumble in the waning seconds of the game.
