Week 7 fantasy football #KABOOM winners

Each week, we at NFL fantasy like to bestow #KABOOM awards on the top players at each position that deliver monster performances for their fantasy owners. Week 7 had no shortage of star performers and surprises, but there were a few players in particular who deserve the nod for dominating their position: Russell Wilson, Shane Vereen, Demaryius Thomas, Gavin Escobar.

Russell Wilson, QB, Seattle Seahawks -- 37.12 fantasy points

Wilson's afternoon started off quietly, and if you'd looked at the box score during the first half you probably never would have guessed the Seattle's signal-caller would rack up almost 40 fantasy points. Yet, that's exactly what he did, rushing for over 100 yards for the second time this season. He also became the first player in NFL history to throw for over 300 yards and rush for 100 yards in the same game.

Shane Vereen, RB, New England Patriots -- 23.40 fantasy points

Vereen kicked off Week 7 with a monster performance on Thursday night football, totaling 114 yards on the night with two receiving touchdowns. No one was quite sure what the New England backfield would look like sans Stevan Ridley, but now we have a slightly better idea. Until, of course, head coach Bill Belichick doesn't give Vereen a touch next week just to spite fantasy football players. #Belitricks will never die.

Demaryius Thomas, WR, Denver Broncos -- 29.10 fantasy points

Thomas turned in a memorable performance of his own on an unforgettable night for Peyton Manning. Aside from catching Manning's 509th career touchdown (an NFL record), Thomas racked up 171 receiving yards and threw in another score for good measure. All told he put up 29.10 fantasy points -- the second time he's crossed the 29 point mark in the past three weeks.

Gavin Escobar -- 18.50 fantasy points

I don't know if I'd call this a fullblown tight end tryst just yet, but it appears Tony Romo is flirting with the idea of trading in Jason Witten for the younger, taller and more athletic Gavin Escobar. Romo found Escobar in the end zone twice on Sunday, helping his young tight end finish as the top scorer at his position in fantasy. We'll see if this lasts, or if it's just an October fling.
