Fantasy football roster reset: NFC South

We are well into the free agent season and most of the big names have come off the board. That means teams are starting to round into shape. While we still have the NFL Draft in May, enough has happened that we can start to figure out what the league's offenses will look like in 2014. That's why we're going through to examine all 32 rosters to check on their respective fantasy values. For a more complete look, check out Around the League's Roster Reset.

Key re-signings: None
Key arrivals:Devin Hester
Key departures: Tony Gonzalez, Jason Snelling

Fantasy depth chart

Atlanta's offseason has been more notable for its losses than its additions. Tony Gonzalez and Jason Snelling both opted for retirement after the team's difficult 2013 season. And while the Falcons did add veteran receiver/punt returner supreme Devin Hester, the healthy return of Julio Jones will have a much bigger impact on Matt Ryan, the offense and fantasy rosters. Things don't look quite as optimistic in the backfield where an aging Steven Jackson and a perennially underperforming Jacquizz Rodgers could find their roles diminished in 2014.

Carolina Panthers

Fantasy depth chart

One of Carolina's Achilles' heels in 2013 was an underperforming group of receivers. Steve Smith wasn't the player he'd once been and the Panthers other options weren't exactly consistent. This offseason, Carolina said goodbye to four receivers, most notably Smith. However, the list of pass-catchers that have come in to fill their places won't blow anyone away. It could put a crimp in Cam Newton's prospects for 2014 and place added pressure on the frequently uneven rushing duo of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart.

New Orleans Saints

Darren McFadden is staying put, but plenty of free agents are on the move. Keep up with them in our Fantasy Tracker. More ...

Key re-signings:Luke McCown
Key arrivals: None
Key departures:Jed Collins, Lance Moore, Darren Sproles

Fantasy depth chart

So much of the Saints fantasy prospects in 2014 hinge on what happens with Jimmy Graham. They dynamic tight end (receiver?) appears ready to engage in a protracted contract standoff that could keep him off the field well into training camp. Drew Brees is still fairly teflon, even if Graham isn't available. But beyond that, there aren't many Saints that are consistently worthy of your trust. Hurry back soon, Jimmy Graham.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Key re-signings: None
Key arrivals:Lavelle Hawkins, Josh McCown, Louis Murphy, Brandon Myers
Key departures:Tiquan Underwood

Fantasy depth chart

Tampa Bay took a gamble in free agency by signing Josh McCown and hoping he could re-create his magic from last season in Chicago. Having a healthy Doug Martin could help as could the addition of tight end Brandon Myers. The concern for fantasy owners is the accumulation of speculative options in the Bucs offense. Having one risk-reward option is one thing, having multiple is reason for concern. Drafting a Buccaneer could be a boom-or-bust situation in 2014.
