Monday Nightmare: Drew Brees has quiet night

Well it's my philosophy to play your studs, especially at quarterback. Because check this out. Drew Brees was awful on Monday night. But you know whose fault that is? It's Brees' fault.

On the other hand, Rainn Wilson benched Eric Decker for Nate Burleson. Guess what, that's Rainn's fault. He has nobody to blame by himself.

So when you stick with your studs, you absolve yourself of all responsibility. And when you looked around Twitter on Monday night, seems a lot of you were blaming Drew Brees for a poor performance.

No, seriously. A lot of you were blaming Brees this week.

See, doesn't that make it better to put the loss on Brees? Let him take the brunt of your frustration this week.

Now comes the hard part. I don't want to cause any real concern for all of you Breeslievers out there. But can you trust Brees going into the playoffs?

Brees struggled against the Seahawks' defense and he's been known to struggle against some of the good teams this season. Brees scored just 14.10 points against the 49ers, just under 20 against the Bears and 16.54 against the Patriots. Those are three of the tougher defenses in points allowed to fantasy quarterbacks.

Brees will face the Panthers twice in the coming weeks. And Carolina allows just over 10 fantasy points to quarterbacks on the season. Mixed in will be a game against the St. Louis FC, another team brutal on fantasy quarterbacks. So it might not be too bright for Brees owners headed into the fantasy playoffs.

But we can worry about that in the coming weeks. This is our therapy session to share our frustration. Why, even real doctors have to share.

I told her to sit Decker, so she can actually blame me.

For the record, you can submit your fantasy questions to NFL Fantasy Live, Michael Fabiano or me on Twitter. But realize, NFL Fantasy Live has 100,000 followers, and Fabiano has 100,000. Me? Just four. See, the odds are better I will answer your question, so hit me up both via Twitter or via Facebook. And if you follow him on Sundays, he'll quote "The Wolf" from "Pulp Fiction" and then it's game on! Although, it's tough to catch me on Facebook. Twitter is your go-to. Also be sure to catch the latest "Dave Dameshek Football Program."
