Rodgers, Wells and Nicks among Week 4 winners

What a wild Sunday it was, as we welcomed back some old friends (Arian Foster) and winced as some painful injuries (‘Dre Johnson). Here is a look at Week 4’s winners and losers.

Winner: Aaron Rodgers

Is there any doubt that Rodgers is not only the best quarterback in the NFL, but the best fantasy option, too? Rodgers has scored the most points of any fantasy quarterback this season, thanks to 45.92 points against the Broncos in Week 4.

Loser: Mark Sanchez

Sanchez was harassed by the Ravens from his first snap and it never let up, as he scored negative points. But the good news is that's Jason Smith was the only person who thought that Sanchez was going to have a good fantasy day.

Winner: Beanie Wells

While Matt Forte and Arian Foster had monster stat lines, Wells was in a class by himself with 138 yards rushing and three touchdowns for the Cardinals. Wells has battled injuries but had a true breakout game against the Giants. Wells has a tough matchup against the Vikings this week, but should still be in your starting lineup.

Loser: Shonn Greene

One of the founding members of the Richard Grieco All-Stars (players with promise, but eventually flame out), and nothing has changed after a lackluster performance against the Ravens on Sunday night. Even though Greene has never matched his potential, fantasy owners are advised to keep him on the bench, and resist the temptation to put him on waivers.

Winner: Hakeem Nicks

Nicks had a monster game against the Cardinals with 162 yards and a touchdown -- and all of it seemed to happen in the final minutes of the game. Nicks is one of those guys who must be in your lineup, even if his name is on the injury list each week.

Loser: Torrey Smith

Smith was the hottest name on the fantasy waiver wire after he torched St. Louis the previous week, but the rookie was a virtual no-show on fantasy stat sheets against the Jets. Smith saw attention from Darrelle Revis early, and the Ravens took their shots, but Smith could not get it going. However, do not be discouraged, a number of good receivers struggle against the Jets' pass defense.

Winner: Jimmy Graham

If you were told that a former NCAA basketball player was going to be one of the top two tight ends in fantasy football, would Graham have been your first guess? He ranks second among tight ends in fantasy points, and he was the top scorer at the position in Week 4 after posting 132 yards and a touchdown.

Loser: Scott Chandler

The Bills were flying high after huge wins over the Raiders and the Patriots, but ran into a tough Bengals defense in Week 4. Ryan Fitzpatrick struggled, and that trickled down to Chandler, who had just 8 receiving yards, showing that he is a true feast-or-famine option.

Winner: Ryan Succop

The Chiefs got their first win of the season, thanks in part to Succop. He had five field goals, including two boots from 50-plus yards that meant bonus points in some leagues, and an extra point.

Loser: Josh Brown

The St. Louis offense has yet to get on track, and those tough matchups have been harsh on Brown. He was one of the highest-ranked kickers going into the year, but had just an extra point and a field goal Sunday.

Winner: Ravens D

The Ravens' best offense on Sunday was their defense, which scored three touchdowns, forced four turnovers and allowed just 17 points to the Jets.

Loser: Steelers D

So much for the Steelers being a dominant fantasy defense. The unit was beaten up by the Texans and scored only one point in basic scoring leagues.
