Fantasy football 2016 roster reset: NFC North

Now that we're past free agency and the draft, we have a clue of how the teams around the NFL are going to line up. More importantly, we also have a pretty good idea of which players could be in line for some nice fantasy production in 2016. To help you out, we've brought back our Roster Resets for another season. Keep checking back as we add a new division each day.

Chicago Bears

Key re-signings:Rob Housler, Zach Miller, Jacquizz Rodgers
Key arrivals: Brian Hoyer
Key departures:Matt Forte, Martellus Bennett
Key draft picks:Jordan Howard, Daniel Braverman

Fantasy depth chart
Quarterback:Jay Cutler, Brian Hoyer
Running backs:Jeremy Langford, Ka'Deem Carey, Jordan Howard
Wide receivers:Alshon Jeffery, Kevin White, Eddie Royal, Marquess Wilson
Tight ends:Zach Miller, Rob Housler

The Bears will have a different look this year with Matt Forte no longer calling The Windy City home. Instead, Chicago's run game will rely on Jeremy Langford, who began 2015 with a bang but ended with a whimper. The Bears tried unsuccessfully this offseason to find more running back help but produced only Indiana's Jordan Howard in the fifth round of the draft. There is excitement through the air, however, with both Alshon Jeffery and Kevin White (who missed all of last season) expected to be healthy and ready to go. What does it mean for Jay Cutler? Well, he'll probably be the same inconsistent fantasy quarterback he's always been. Does he care? Probably not.

Detroit Lions

Key re-signings:Dan Orlovsky, Timothy Wright
Key arrivals:Marvin Jones, Jeremy Kerley, Stevan Ridley
Key departures: Joique Bell, Calvin Johnson
Key draft picks: Taylor Decker

Fantasy depth chart

Calvin Johnson retired this offseason and took a large chunk of the Lions receiving production with him. Now Matthew Stafford will try to regroup with a receiving corps that features Golden Tate and free agent acquisition Marvin Jones. Another year in Jim Bob Cooter's offense could help this group remain productive. The running back position is a hodgepodge with Ameer Abdullah looking to improve on a frustrating rookie year all while likely splitting time with Theo Riddick. Stevan Ridley is in camp, but could end up being just an insurance policy in the backfield. Is this the year that Eric Ebron finally breaks out as a TE1? Sure, anything can happen.

Green Bay Packers

Key re-signings: James Starks
Key arrivals: Jared Cook
Key departures:James Jones, Scott Tolzien
Key draft picks: None

Fantasy depth chart

As is the Packers way, the team didn't make a ton of big moves to change the roster. The biggest key for Green Bay is health. Jordy Nelson is back after missing all of last season with an ACL injury. Eddie Lacy has slimmed down after playing at an (ahem!) elevated weight in 2015. With the band back together, signs point to Aaron Rodgers again challenging to be the top scorer in fantasy football. Maybe the biggest winner in this is Jared Cook, who has a chance to play with a great quarterback after seven lackluster seasons in the league. If he can't succed now, it was just never meant to be.

Minnesota Vikings

Key re-signings: Matt Asiata
Key arrivals: None
Key departures: Mike Wallace
Key draft picks: Laquon Treadwell

Fantasy depth chart*Quarterback:Teddy Bridgewater, Shaun Hill
*
Running backs:Adrian Peterson, Jerick McKinnon, Matt Asiata
Wide receivers:Laquon Treadwell, Stefon Diggs, Jarius Wright
Tight ends:Kyle Rudolph, Mycole Pruitt, Rhett Ellison

For years, Adrian Peterson has been the sum total of the Vikings offense. While he'll still be a main focal point of the attack, there's hope that Minnesota could diversify things a bit. The biggest reason for encouragment comes from first-round pick Laquon Treadwell. The Vikings (and fantasy owners) hope the Ole Miss product could be weapon that unlocks Teddy Bridgewater's full potential. It might take a couple of years before we're talking about Bridgewater and Treadwell as top tier players at their respective positions, but there is reason to be optimistic.
