Well, that game certainly was ... something. We had been leery of both of these backfields given the uncertainty in how the touches would be split up, and after tonight, things remain murky. Well, except for Matt Jones being the lead back in Washington. He had 11 carries to Alfred Morris' six. Pour some out for Freddy Mo. Jones did lose a fumble around the goal line though, angering his owners to no end. He should be able to rebound in the coming weeks though, while Morris ponders the meaning of life on the bench. Chris Thompson was a surprise contributor, and looks like he could earn a larger share of the backfield touches as the change-of-pace, passing-down back. Meanwhile, the Giants split up the backfield touches as follows: Rashad Jennings, 14; Andre Williams, 14; Shane Vereen, 6. Gross. It'll be hard to trust any of these backs moving forward. Jordan Reed continues to have a safe week-to-week floor at fantasy's most volatile position. He saw nine targets, hauling in six of them for 96 yards. He was targeted in the end zone a few times as well, but poor throws from Kirk Cousins kept Reed's fantasy scoring in check. Speaking of Cousins, he looked scared of getting hit, couldn't read the blitz or coverage, and overall struggled mightily. His final yardage and fantasy output are misleading. Eli was, well, Eli, and scored a garbage time touchdown -- while leading -- on a ridiculous pass that bounced off of the defender and into the hands of Rueben Randle to turn in a solid evening of scoring. This was vintage Randle, who loves to show up unannounced for a week or two before disappearing again. Don't overreact to his output today, especially since Victor Cruz will be returning soon. Oh, and Josh Brown had 12 points tonight for his fantasy owners. Kickers are people, too, you know.
