Week 10 fantasy football notebook

» Brandon Marshall owners rejoice! A deep touchdown! Hooray! Garbage time points are still points, too. - AG

» Well, Aaron Rodgers' quest to tie the single-game touchdown record might be over. After a blocked punt, the Packers drive stalled near the goal line and they settled for a field goal to push their lead to 45-0. - AG

» My word. Somebody stop the match. After Julius Peppers strip-sacked Jay Cutler the Packers put the final nail in the coffin with an 18-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to Randall Cobb. For those of you keeping track at home, that's six touchdowns for Rodgers. In less than 30 minutes of football. - AG

» Aaaaand it's officially a boat race. The Packers just took a 35-0 lead on a 56-yard touchdown catch by Eddie Lacy (no that's not a typo). The Packers offense is firing on all cylinders tonight. Owners with Chicago Bears on their rosters should pray for some garbage time points before this one comes to a close. - AG

» Things are getting ugly in Green Bay. Jordy Nelson torched the Chicago secondary (again), and Rodgers found him deep for their second touchdown of the night. For what it's worth, it was also a throw that pretty much only Rodgers could make. It's 28-0, Green Bay. Chicago needs a spark ... soon. - AG

» Hey look, Jordy Nelson is back guys! Facing a third and 11, Rodgers uncorked a deep pass that hit Nelson -- who was wide open -- in stride for the 73-yard score. It's 21-0 early in the second quarter in Green Bay. - AG

» Well, Jay Cutler's struggles at Lambeau Field continue. He was intercepted by Micah Hyde setting up a short touchdown toss from Rodgers to Andrew Quarless. Again, we know, that helps no one. - AG

» After the Bears opening drive stalled, Aaron Rodgers marched the Packers right down the field and capped it off with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Bostick on fourth down. We know, that helps no one. - AG

» Russell Wilson has his third 100-yard rushing game of the season and added his fourth rushing touchdown for good measure. He leads all quarterbacks in both categories and had he not thrown two picks against the Giants he'd have broken the 20.00 fantasy point mark. Either way you can call it a successful fantasy day for DangeRuss. -MF

» If you streamed the Cardinals defense today, this fourth quarter was for you. They have taken two turnovers to the house against the Rams to turn what was a close game into a blowout. Oh, and John Brown made and absolutely beautiful catch on a Drew Stanton pass for a touchdown. Carson Palmer left the game with a knee injury. - AG

» Well if Marshawn Lynch is on your team this week, you're a happy camper. If he's against you in your fantasy matchup you probably feel like destroying all of the electronics that you own. Sort of like this. Beast Mode has four touchdowns and 140 rushing yards. - MF

» It was worth preaching patience on Julius Thomas because Peyton Manning eventually feeds everyone in his offense. Today is Thomas' day to eat. So far, Orange Julius has six catches for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns. - MG

» Jared Cook? Yes, Jared Cook. Don't adjust your monitors, but that was in fact Cook on the receiving end of a 59-yard touchdown pass from Austin Davis. The Rams head into halftime leading the Cardinals 14-10. - AG

» If you started Ronnie Hillman, you're seeing a lot of C.J. Anderson. And you probably don't like it. Hillman suffered a foot injury and Anderson has had a nice first half in his place. Fantasy football is so frustrating, ain't it? - MG

» It's official. Marshawn Lynch now has two straight games with at least two rushing touchdowns and we're not even to halftime yet. Dude's been eating his Skittles. He's at 19.90 fantasy points already. -MF

» Andre Ellington dove into the end zone for the Carindals to tie the game 7-7. Larry Fitzgerald was largely involved in moving the offense down the field as well. - AG

» Andre Williams has plowed his way (or was dragged depending on how you look at it) into the end zone for the second straight game. His yardage totals haven't been impressive in the absence of Rashad Jennings but he's been a must start for his scoring potential. -MF

» First, the Jets shut down Ben Roethlisberger. Now the Raiders have a pair of picks against Peyton Manning. Hopefully, Aaron Rodgers has been innoculated from whatever fantasy flu is going around. - MG

» Benny Cunningham has really taken to his role as a touchdown vulture. After Tre Mason and Tavon Austin moved the Rams down the field, Cunningham fell forward for a 1-yard score. The Cardinals look out of sorts on offense in the early goings of this NFC West battle. - AG

» The Giants have answered with a touchdown of their own late in the first quarter. Eli Manning hooked up with Preston Parker for a 6-yard score. Safe to say #ThatHelpsNoOne, unless you deployed Manning this afternoon. If so, good for you savvy fantasy owner. Good for you. -MF

» The Beast has been unleashed in Seattle and already has a touchdown. Marshawn Lynch is looking to follow up his huge Week 9 with another big performance today and is off to a great start. -MF

» When did Matthew Stafford become so clutch? The Lions signal-caller side-armed a pass to Theo Riddick to give Detroit the last-second win over the Dolphins. - AG

» Jimmy Graham's yardage numbers are mediocre, but no one will complain about his two touchdown catches. More importantly, Drew Brees is looking his way a lot more often. We endorse this. - MG

» I take back what I said about Justin Forsett's low yardage total earlier. He finished Week 10 with 112 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. That's good enough for 23.20 fantasy points on the day giving his owners a nice boost at the running back position. -MF

» The Steelers' rookie wideout Martavis Bryant continues his hot streak with his fourth straight game with a touchdown after an 80-yard scoring reception late in the fourth quarter. His total of 143 yards plus the score is good enough for 20.30 fantasy points. -MF

» Anyone who started Joe Flacco or Torrey Smith today can breathe a bit easier now. The duo just connected for a 32-yard touchdown for the Ravens' first passing score of the day. T. Smith now has five touchdowns in his last five games. Flacco has just 156 yards through the air today so his fantasy point total isn't spectacular. -MF

» You can't stop Jamaal Charles, you can only hope to slow him down. That's what the Bills did for much of this game, until Charles took a fourth down run to the house. It's now 13-10, with Buffalo clining on to a small lead. - AG

» Detroit's kicking woes continue. This time, Matt Prater's latest attempt was blocked and returned inside the five yard line, which led to a short Mike Wallace touchdown reception. The Dolphins have the lead 13-10. - AG

» And Justin Forsett just scored for the second time today. He's got just 34 yards on 10 carries but his two touchdowns make up for his low yardage total. It's his first multi-touchdown game of the season and puts the Ravens up 14-7 over the Titans late in the third quarter. -MF

» Big Ben is having an awful day with two interceptions and just 88 total yards at the start of the third quarter. Not really sure what's going on here but if you started him, well sorry for ya. -MF

» It's turned into an interception-off in Detroit. Shortly after Ryan Tannehill threw a horrible pick to the Lions, Brent Grimes made one of the plays of the year with an insane one-handed interception of his own. It's still 10-0 in Detroit approaching the half. - AG

» The more things change, the more they stay the same. Anquan Boldin continues to be Colin Kaepernick's top target. It's hard to figure out 49ers receivers, but if you're picking one it should be 'Quan. - MG

» Throw up the X! Dez Bryant is in the end zone. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing at all. - MG

» The Ravens have had a tough start against the Titans but finally got on the board in the second quarter on a 9-yard run by Justin Forsett. His first score since Week 5 is a refreshing sight his fantasy owners. He's clearly locked in as the lead back in Baltimore. -MF

» Welcome to the Twilight Zone. The Jets just went up 17-0 on Pittsburgh. Tight end Jace Amarogot the score for New York, and Michael Vick already has over 13.00 fantasy points with his two touchdown passes, 92 pass yards and 22 rush yards. -MF

» It's like we're in a time warp today. Rushing scores from Frank Gore, Leon Washington ... and now Steven Jackson. What the heck is going on here? - MG

» Don't look now, but the Jets are already up 10-0 on the Steelers in the first quarter. Michael Vick absolutely unloaded on a 67-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Graham for the score. Graham was waived earlier this season by the Bills and is owned in zero percent of NFL.com leagues. #ThatHelpsNoOne (unless you started Vick today). - Matt Franciscovich

» The 49ers have decided to get back to basics and run the football today. This time, it's Carlos Hyde finding the end zone. There could be more of this to come. - MG

» I think it's safe to say Calvin Johnson is back, guys. Matthew Stafford found him deep for a 49-yard touchdown to push the Lions lead to 10-0. - AG

» I'm sure plenty of people in Ann Arbor would love to have Denard Robinson back in Maize and Blue. But he's still doing big things for the Jaguars. His 32-yard touchdown sprint was a thing of beauty. - MG

» We have an early leader in the clubhouse for "That Helps No One" in Week 10, as Kyle Orton found Chris Hogan for a 25-yard touchdown. - AG

» This is not a drill! Frank Gore is in the end zone. I repeat, Frank Gore is in the end zone. The Niners look like they plan to emphasize the run this week. This is a good thing. - Marcas Grant

» Welcome to Week 10! It's the second straight week with six teams on byes (sigh). A number of big name players are returning from injuries today, including Calvin Johnson and Fred Jackson. Get the full list of inactives HERE, but stay tuned to this page for updates all day long on all of the fantasy football action from Week 10. - Alex Gelhar
