Brady vs. Brees highlights Week 7 fantasy audibles

With Week 7 of the NFL season upon us we're starting to separate the fantasy contenders from the pretenders. But for those who are hanging around on the fringes of fantasy relevance, the choices get a lot tougher and much more important. We're hoping to clear some things up in the latest edition of Fantasy Football Audibles.

A few weeks ago, we were naming Tom Brady among the fantasy dead. I'm still not 100 percent convinced that Brady is all the way back, but there's no denying that he's looked like the Tom Brady of old in Weeks 5 and 6. On the other side, Drew Brees hasn't played like the guy fantasy owners spent a high draft pick on. Not to mention that he'll have to operate without Jimmy Graham for another week or two ... all while facing one of the league's most ferocious defenses in the Detroit Lions. I'm generally not a fan of starting guys on Thursday night, but the idea of a red-hot Brady facing a beat up and disorganized Jets squad in Foxboro on a short week seems like too good of a situation to pass up.

With all this talk about Jordan, you'd think this was the United Center circa 1997 ... but I digress. If you're choosing between these two tight ends, it's Jordan Cameron. As talented (and potentially productive) as Jordan Reed can be, Cameron is a bigger part of his team's offense. He's also a big body around the goal line on a team that is stocked with smallish wideouts. If you waited for Cameron to return, his Week 6 outing was certainly worth your patience. He'll be the guy to roll with for the rest of the season.

The Lions are the second-ranked defense in fantasy through six weeks. The Seahawks are 26th. Just like we figured it, right? Not so much. Seattle's defense should start to get a little healthy this week against a Rams offense that looked shell-shocked in the second half against the 49ers, but it's hard to go against Detroit right now. The Lions have recorded at least two sacks and a turnover in each game this season while never scoring fewer than four fantasy points in any individual contest. With Drew Brees and the Saints offense showing inconsistency, it could be another solid day for the men in Honolulu blue.
