Weekly rankings: Can you trust Carson Palmer?

This is going to be a hard thing for me to do, but I must apologize to the St. Louis FC organization for mocking them for trading away Robert Griffin III for all of those draft picks. I figured it might be one of the worst moves of all time, but the team looks pretty good right now.

That's not to say RGIII won't become a solid pro quarterback, but it certainly isn't the fait accompli it looked like last year. Seriously, how did RGIII turn so quickly? People haven't turned this quickly on a franchise since George Lucas dubbed in the "Noooooooooooooooo!" during the final battle of Episode VI.

Now when I'm doing my rankings, I would almost have reservations about putting RGIII ahead of Case Keenum. And Keenum was awful Sunday. Speaking of rankings, let's get to them.

Quarterbacks

  • Yeah, I had thought about dropping Brees in my rankings because of the tough matchup. I wouldn't want anybody to get the wrong idea here. There might be guys who have better matchups, but I would feel sick to my stomach if I benched Brees and he went nuts. And if that kept me out of the playoffs.
  • Yeah, at some point I can't ignore what Palmer has done. But at the same time, doesn't it feel like the first time you finally trust him he's going to end up burning you?

Running backs

  • We will continue to ride Charles until further notice.
  • I know Brown was awful last week, but look at the matchup. He has a nice bounce-back this week.
  • The Texans have a great matchup this week. Gary Kubiak wants to see what he's got with Johnson. And he looked like a guy who wanted to step up.

Wide receivers

  • Even if you don't completely trust Palmer just yet, you can trust Fitz. Plus, Floyd has been fantastic in back-to-back weeks.
  • Decker has struggled in recent weeks. But remember the way folks panicked after Week 1? Let's not go crazy just yet.

Tight ends

  • We are due for a Cameron revitalization at some point, right? The Jaguars give up a ton of points to fantasy tight ends.
  • And why is Fleener still available in a ton of fantasy leagues?

Kickers

  • Seabass is coming off a huge week, 15 points. The Cowboys have been tough on fantasy kickers, but, Seabass.

Defense

  • We might have been too simplistic in picking teams going up against the Jaguars. But the Texans did have a nice effort against Jacksonville. Now the Jags will be on the road in Cleveland. The weather should be around 40 degrees. But still a pretty nice play this week.

For the record, you can submit your fantasy questions to NFL Fantasy Live, Michael Fabiano or me on Twitter. But realize, NFL Fantasy Live has 100,000 followers, and Fabiano has 100,000. Me? Just four. See, the odds are better I will answer your question, so hit me up both via Twitter or via Facebook. And if you follow him on Sundays, he'll quote "The Wolf" from "Pulp Fiction" and then it's game on! Although, it's tough to catch me on Facebook. Twitter is your go-to. Also be sure to catch the latest "Dave Dameshek Football Program."
