Well, the injury Grim Reaper didn't do nearly as much damage on Monday as he did over the weekend, but that doesn't mean Monday was uneventful. Let's review the most important tidbits.
Expect a huge rebound from CJ2K
Offensive guard Chance Warmack became the final first-round pick to sign his deal, and he'll be practicing with the Titans shortly. Combine that with the free-agency signing of Pro Bowler Andy Levitre in the offseason, and you're going to see an enormous difference in Tennessee's interior blocking this season.
Levitre was a four-year starter with the Bills and one of the best offensive guards to hit the free agency market in some time. I strongly believe Warmack is the best guard prospect to enter the league since Steve Hutchinson. He was the 'safest' pick any team could make in the sense that there is only a microscopic chance that he doesn't become a very productive player. In fact, I'll go a step further and say Warmack will become an elite player at his position in short order. He won't need very long to make the AFC Pro Bowl roster, and he'll consistently rattle off multiple appearances once he does.
What does all this mean for Chris Johnson? Only good things. Remember the days when CJ2K only needed a glimmer of daylight to zip through a front seven, gain a full head of steam and dance through an opposing secondary like Yule Brenner in "The King and I"? Well, guess what? This offensive line is going to create huge holes for him to dash through. Attempting to beat a cheetah in a race was ridiculous, but it is very realistic to expect CJ2K to contend for the rushing yardage title in 2013. If you can get a stud running back in Round 1 and then catch a seemingly unvervalued CJ2K on the way back, you will be ecstatic with your backfield production. Don't worry about CJ2K conceding short-yardage carries to Shonn Greene. Johnson will take enough long runs to the house to make your league mates wonder why they didn't draft him.
Eagles flying too fast?
As if losing Jeremy Maclin for the year wasn't bad enough, here's an interesting piece on how the NFL officials may not be in position to help Chip Kelly's Eagles offense operate at breakneck speed.
If you watched Kelly's offense at Oregon, the playcalling wasn't necessarily complex. The primary reasons his offense worked so well was because of the speed mismatches that created multiple good options for his QB on any given play, and defenses didn't have enough time to substitute tired players since the offense was already lined up for the next play as the official was spotting the ball. Kelly didn't seem to mind a great deal when discussing this, but taking those advantages away would be a huge blow to Kelly's entire offensive philosophy, depending on exactly what he plans to run. This is why I'm as anxious as ever to see Philadelphia's first preseason game against the Patriots next Friday. Kelly won't open the entire playbook, but he is going to have to run some semblance of the offense he plans to run in the regular season. I can't wait to see how this plays out.

» Eddie Lacy's "does this uniform make me look fat?" photo took the Internet by storm yesterday. Lacy is more of a LenDale White bruising back than a 20-25 carries per game RB that the Packers offense really needs. Even though the Pack will likely use a multi-headed RB attack, I still think Lacy will finish with the best stats of the bunch.
» Hip soreness kept Dez Bryant out of practice again Monday, but the he was seen jogging on the sideline without any noticable signs of pain. The more days star players can sit out camp and avoid the risk injury, the better off they are as far as I'm concerned. Bryant will likely be back in pads before the end of the week.
» Kevin Kolb put on a less than stellar passing display on Monday at Bills camp. Of all the QB battles going on in the league right now, I'm most comfortable predicting E.J. Manuel wins the gig for Week 1. And it's going to be fun to see what kind of offensive creativity Manuel and Spiller can concoct between the two of them.
