NFL fantasy football: 10 potential draft bargains

Carson Palmer, QB, Arizona Cardinals: Palmer has been the ultimate fantasy garbage man in recent seasons -- that's actually a compliment. He won't be any fantasy owners No. 1 option, even now that he's throwing to Larry Fitzgerald. But Palmer's production should be a little more even this season and should provide good late round value as a No. 2 fantasy QB option.

Jacquizz Rodgers, RB, Atlanta Falcons: He'll still be Atlanta's No. 2 running back -- this year working behind Steven Jackson -- but he'll also remain a quality third-down option. His production last year will warrant more opportunities in 2013. Rodgers should be a quality flex option in PPR leagues.

Bryce Brown, RB, Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles are stockpiling guys who can run the football, and with good reason. Chip Kelly's offenses have generally been run first, which means Brown should see plenty of touches. LeSean McCoy will remain the top option in Philly's offense, but there will be a lot of chances to go around. Any fantasy owner who grabs Brown should see nice production.

Alex Smith, QB, Kansas City Chiefs: He'll have the confidence of knowing he's not a threat to be replaced. More importantly, he'll lead an offense that plays to some of his strengths as a mobile quarterback. A suspect receiving corps shouldn't matter; head coach Andy Reid has guided quarterbacks to success without quality weapons on the outside.

Mike Goodson, RB, New York Jets: It seems likely that Chris Ivory will be the starting back in New York, but Goodson should work for his share of the carries in 2013. The Jets will likely focus on their ground game early in the season and Goodson will be a key cog on third downs and in the passing game.

Robert Woods, WR, Buffalo Bills: Woods has an excellent chance to be Buffalo's No. 2 WR option behind Stevie Johnson. It's unlikely that he'll make an immediate fantasy impact, but for fantasy owners who have the luxury to stash a receiver could be rewarded later in the year.

Michael Vick, QB, Philadelphia Eagles: If there was ever an offense built for Vick, it's the one he finds himself in playing for Chip Kelly. As usual, the value fantasy owners get from the veteran will be based heavily on his ability to stay healthy. If Vick can stay on the field, he'll be in a great position to succeed in 2013.

Philip Rivers, QB, San Diego Chargers: This is a make-or-break year for Rivers in San Diego, but things appear to be falling into place. He has a new head coach who has specialized in helping QBs succeed. He also has a WR corps that is long on depth -- even if it's short on stars. Rivers won't be a top 10 fantasy QB this year, but he'll rebound from the disappointments of past seasons.

Vernon Davis, TE, San Francisco 49ers: It took Davis some time to find a rapport with Colin Kaepernick, but that connection seems to have been made in the NFL playoffs. Look for that to continue into this season as Davis bounces back from a subpar 2013 at a position that is crying out for some depth.
