Waiver Wire

It's Tebow time on the waiver wire heading into Week 6

Need to improve your fantasy team? Each week, NFL.com will offer up 10 players to target off the waiver wire to help you in that quest for a league championship. The number listed in parenthesis is the percentage of NFL.com leagues that the player is still a free agent.

Tim Tebow, QB, Broncos (91.4 percent):

It's Tebow time! The Florida product played less than a half against the Chargers in Week 5, but he still scored more fantasy points than Tom Brady, Darren McFadden and Roddy White! Tebow, who scored more fantasy points than any other player in the final three weeks of 2011, is likely to start for coach John Fox after the team's bye. He needs to be added in all fantasy leagues moving forward.

Jackie Battle, RB, Chiefs (99.8 percent):

The Chiefs are on a bye in Week 6, but you'd still be wise to grab Battle now. He looked solid against the Colts, rushing for 119 yards while adding 21 yards as a receiver out of the backfield. While he won't be the next Jamaal Charles, Battle looks like the best back on the Chiefs roster ahead of Thomas Jones. His next game is an extremely favorable one against the Raiders in Week 7.

Delone Carter, RB, Colts (99.5 percent):

With Joseph Addai's status in question due to a hamstring ailment, Carter will no doubt be a hot name off the waiver wire. The rookie out of Syracuse isn't going to be the next Edgerrin James, but he should see plenty of touches in the event that Addai is forced to miss time. Donald Brown will also see some work for the Colts, but Carter is the member of this backfield to target on waivers.

Earnest Graham, RB, Buccaneers (98.4 percent):

LeGarrette Blount suffered a leg injury in a blowout loss to the 49ers, so Graham could be thrust into a prominent role for the Buccaneers in Week 6. Graham, a fantasy sleeper during the 2007 season, would be a viable flex starter with added value in PPR leagues if Blount is forced to miss time. He'll be well worth an add as a handcuff or in most leagues with 12-plus teams this week.

Ryan Torain, RB, Redskins (52.9 percent):

Coach Mike Shanahan once again has proved why he's considered Public Enemy No. 1 in fantasy football. He pulled the old switcheroo on us in Week 4, sitting Tim Hightower and giving Torain the bulk of the carries. He responded with 135 yards and a touchdown, so Torain is back on the fantasy radar. With a game against the Eagles and their bad run defense up next, he should be added in all leagues.

Tom Gannam/Associated Press

Jason Avant, WR, Eagles (98.6 percent):

Fantasy owners in deeper leagues who need a wide receiver should look to add Avant, who is coming off a monster nine-reception, 130-yard performance against the Bills. The veteran out of Michigan has recorded a combined 15 receptions for 208 yards over the last two weeks, and he's caught all but three passes thrown in his direction. He'll go up against the Washington Redskins in Week 6.

Victor Cruz, WR, Giants (76.9 percent):

Cruz has been one of the hottest wide receivers in fantasy football over the last three weeks, posting a combined 369 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 21.7 yards per catch. Now a better option for owners than Mario Manningham, Cruz should be added in all fantasy leagues while he's on such a hot streak. The Massachusetts product will be facing the Buffalo Bills next.

Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, Raiders (97.7 percent):

Yes, we are actually promoting the addition of Heyward-Bey in the world of fantasy football. He's posted a combined 214 yards and one touchdown over the last two weeks and is finally showing the potential that made him a top-10 overall selection in the 2009 NFL Draft. The Maryland product is well worth a look in leagues with 12-plus teams if you're looking for wide receiver depth.

Denny Medley/US Presswire

Greg Little, WR, Browns (97.7 percent):

Coach Pat Shurmur announced this week that Little will start this week against the Raiders, so he needs to at least be on the radar in leagues with 12-plus teams. The rookie out of North Carolina caught six passes on eight targets in Week 4, and instantly becomes the wideout to own in Cleveland. He's not going to put up huge numbers, but Little's upside and this new promotion make him viable.

Tony Dejak/Associated Press

Kevin Walter, WR, Texans (99.1 percent):

With Andre Johnson expected to miss another two weeks, Walter now has some appeal in fantasy land. He had more fantasy points than Jacoby Jones, who saw more targets (11) than Walter (6) but was able to haul in a mere one pass. While he doesn't have a great matchup upcoming -- Walter faces the Baltimore Ravens -- he's still worth a look in deeper leagues while A.J. is out of action.
