  • Marcus Stroud (DT) Buffalo Bills

    Updated 11/20/09 2:38 PM

Stroud was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Jaguars because of a knee injury that has prevented him from practicing.

Impacts: This will hurt the Bills' run defense, and fantasy owners can take advantage by using Maurice Jones-Drew this week to gain some valuable points.

  • Reggie Bush (RB) New Orleans Saints

    Updated 11/20/09 1:46 PM

Bush has been held out of practice for the third straight day, and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Tampa Bay.

Impacts: Bush came out of the St. Louis game with swelling and soreness in his left knee, which was surgically repaired twice in a three-month span a year ago.

  • James Harrison (OLB) Pittsburgh Steelers

    Updated 11/20/09 1:46 PM

Harrison was fined $5,000 for unnecessary roughness when he struck Bengals tackle Andrew Whitworth late.

Impacts: The Steelers lost the game 18-12 to the first-place Bengals.

  • Garrett Wolfe (RB) Chicago Bears

    Updated 11/20/09 1:46 PM

The Bears placed Wolfe on injured reserve Friday, ending his season. The team listed a kidney injury for Wolfe, who told the Chicago Tribune in a text message that he suffered a lacerated kidney on the opening kickoff of a game against Arizona on Nov. 8.

Impacts: The Bears elevated running back Kahlil Bell from the practice squad to replace Wolfe. Wolfe carried the ball 22 times this season for 120 yards and one touchdown. He added nine special teams tackles and two receptions for 12 yards.

  • Dwan Edwards (DE) Baltimore Ravens

    Updated 11/20/09 1:46 PM

Edwards plans to appeal the $5,000 fine he received for a hit delivered to Cleveland Browns wide receiver Joshua Cribbs on Monday night.

Impacts: Edwards said Friday he will appeal in an effort "to get some of it back."' He said the fine was levied because the hit came at a time when Cribbs "supposedly shouldn't have reasonably expected it."

  • Steve Smith (WR) Carolina Panthers

    Updated 11/20/09 12:26 PM

Smith had seven catches for 87 yards and 1 TD Thursday in the Panthers' 24-17 loss to Miami.

Impacts: Smith has 11 catches _ three for touchdowns _ in his last three games, as Jake Delhomme has started to look for him more.

  • Jake Delhomme (QB) Carolina Panthers

    Updated 11/20/09 12:26 PM

Delhomme was 19 of 42 for 227 yards and one TD and one INT on Thursday in a 24-17 loss to Miami.

Impacts: Delhomme had gone three straight games without a touchdown before Thursday. He gets a chance to bounce back against the New York Jets on Nov. 29 - the first of two games at Giants Stadium for him with a trip to face the Giants set for Dec. 27.

  • Jonathan Stewart (RB) Carolina Panthers

    Updated 11/20/09 12:06 PM

Stewart had 12 carries for 42 yards and Thursday in the Panthers' 24-17 loss to Miami.

Impacts: Stewart had two touchdowns five days earlier against Atlanta, but it was a different story against the defending AFC East champion Dolphins.

  • Davone Bess (WR) Miami Dolphins

    Updated 11/20/09 10:54 AM

Bess had six catches for 63 yards in a 24-17 victory at Carolina on Thursday.

Impacts: Bess could be more of a factor in Miami's passing game after this effort. The Dolphins play the Bills next in Buffalo.

  • DeAngelo Williams (RB) Carolina Panthers

    Updated 11/20/09 10:54 AM

Williams had 13 carries for 122 yards Thursday in a 24-17 loss to Miami.

Impacts: Williams has topped 100 yards four times in the last six weeks. Fantasy owners must be loving his production, particular his per-carry average.

  • Ricky Williams (RB) Miami Dolphins

    Updated 11/20/09 10:34 AM

Williams rushed for 119 yards and scored three touchdowns in a 24-17 victory at Carolina on Thursday.

Impacts: Williams started in place of an injured Ronnie Brown. The 2002 NFL rushing champion had a receiving and rushing touchdown in the same game for the first time in his career that included a couple of lost seasons. "Coach always talks about finishing," Williams said. "Sometimes in this league, in a physical game, it's difficult to finish. I think in the past we've prided ourselves on finishing games and we did a good job tonight."

  • Chad Henne (QB) Miami Dolphins

    Updated 11/20/09 10:34 AM

Henne was 17 of 29 for 172 yards and one TD to RB Ricky Williams in a 24-17 victory at Carolina on Thursday.

Impacts: Henne has done a good job taking over as the starter for Chad Pennington, but he doesn't have too much fantasy value.

  • Joe Berger (G) Miami Dolphins

    Updated 11/19/09 11:13 PM

Berger, who replaced Jake Grove at center in Miami's game Thursday, left the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury.

Impacts: Berger tried to go back into the game but was re-injured. Nate Garner replaced him. It's not certain how serious the injuries to Berger and Grove are.

  • Jake Grove (C) Miami Dolphins

    Updated 11/19/09 10:52 PM

Grove left the Dolphins' game on Thursday because of an ankle injury. He did not return.

Impacts: Backup center Joe Berger also was injured but he would come back only to leave again. Grove is a big presence on the Miami offensive line and his presence was quickly missed after Berger left. Nate Garner moved over from left guard and botched a snap on the second play.

  • Albert Haynesworth (DT) Washington Redskins

    Updated 11/19/09 1:54 PM

Redskins coach Jim Zorn says Haynesworth remains a game-time decision for Sunday's contest at Dallas with a sprained left ankle.

Impacts: The coach says Haynesworth is "coming along'' and that the ankle's swelling is starting to go down, but his absence would be huge for the Redskins and give Dallas much more room to run.

  • Jack Williams (CB) Detroit Lions

    Updated 11/18/09 11:49 PM

The Lions placed Williams on injured reserve on Wednesday due to a knee injury.

Impacts: Williams was hurt in his only game for the Lions after playing for Denver

  • Marquand Manuel (SS) Detroit Lions

    Updated 11/18/09 11:27 PM

The Detroit Lions put Manuel on injured reserve Wednesday because of a shoulder injury.

Impacts: Manuel made 35 tackles in nine games this season.

  • Melvin Fowler (C) Detroit Lions

    Updated 11/18/09 11:27 PM

The Lions signed Fowler on Wednesday.

Impacts: Fowler has started in 60 of 88 career games. He was released by Arizona Cardinals this year after starting 37 games the previous three seasons for Buffalo.

  • Jyles Tucker (OLB) San Diego Chargers

    Updated 11/18/09 4:57 PM

The Chargers have placed Tucker on the injured reserve list, meaning he's finished for the season.

Impacts: Tucker suffered an ankle injury in a win at the New York Giants two weeks ago. He appeared in seven games as a reserve and was inactive for two others. Tucker was given a five-year contract before the 2008 season despite having played in only six career regular-season games.

  • Vince Young (QB) Tennessee Titans

    Updated 11/18/09 4:09 PM

The 2006 Offensive Rookie of the Year has posted a passer rating of 90.4 or better in three straight games for the first time in his short career, and he is running effectively.

Impacts: Coincidence or not, the Titans are showing signs of life after the 0-6 start prompted owner Bud Adams to insist that coach Jeff Fisher start the quarterback Adams had watched through high school and college in Texas.

  • Steve Heiden (TE) Cleveland Browns

    Updated 11/18/09 4:09 PM

Heiden was placed on injured reserve Wednesday with an ankle injury.

Impacts: Heiden injured his ankle in Monday night's loss to Baltimore. He had off-season knee surgery and had missed two games with a knee injury.

  • Bruce Gradkowski (QB) Oakland Raiders

    Updated 11/18/09 3:20 PM

Gradkowski will get the starting nod Sunday against Cincinnati as the Raiders have had enough of former No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell - for now.

Impacts: This will be just the second start for Gradkowski since 2006. He started one game last year in Cleveland and 11 games as a rookie for Tampa Bay in 2006. Gradkowski is 17 for 30 for 163 yards and two interceptions. It's unlikely that Gradkowski can do worse than Russell did, though there's certainly no reason to own him on your fantasy team.

  • JaMarcus Russell (QB) Oakland Raiders

    Updated 11/18/09 3:20 PM

The Oakland Raiders are benching Russell, handing the starting job to Bruce Gradkowski.

Impacts: Coach Tom Cable said after practice Wednesday that Gradkowski will get the nod Sunday against Cincinnati. Cable says the plan is for Gradkowski to start the rest of the season. Cable has pulled Russell, the former top overall draft pick, for ineffectiveness in two of the past three games. No Raiders quarterback should be considered as a viable fantasy option at this point.

  • Brady Quinn (QB) Cleveland Browns

    Updated 11/18/09 11:52 AM

Quinn has been fined by the NFL for his chop block on Baltimore's Terrell Suggs, who is out for Sunday's game against the Colts.

Impacts: After throwing an interception in Monday night's 16-0 loss to the Ravens, Quinn dived at Suggs' knees while trying to bring down cornerback Chris Carr, who had picked him off. Suggs had to leave the game and could miss more time. Quinn said he received a letter from the league on Wednesday but would not disclose the size of his fine, saying only that it was "a good amount."

  • Chris McAlister (DB) New Orleans Saints

    Updated 11/18/09 10:41 AM

The New Orleans Saints have signed McAlister.

Impacts: The 32-year-old former Ravens star has been elected to the Pro Bowl three times in his 10-year career but missed most of last season with a right knee injury and was released by Baltimore last February. Both Saints starting cornerbacks are nursing injuries. Jabari Greer has a groin pull and Tracy Porter a sprained left knee.

  • Billy Cundiff (K) Baltimore Ravens

    Updated 11/18/09 10:41 AM

The Baltimore Ravens have signed Cundiff, who once enjoyed success with the Dallas Cowboys and was perfect in a brief stint with Cleveland this season.

Impacts: The 29-year-old Cundiff replaces an ineffective Steve Hauschka, who was cut Tuesday after missing a field goal and having an extra point blocked in Monday night's 16-0 win over the Browns. Cundiff has made 66 of 89 field-goal attempts. He kicked for the Cowboys from 2002-05 and was 6 for 6 on field goal tries with Cleveland as a replacement for the injured Phil Dawson.

  • Jake Allen (WR) Cleveland Browns

    Updated 11/18/09 9:45 AM

    The Packers have released Allen.

Impacts: Allen spent the entire 2008 season and the first seven weeks of the 2009 season on the Packers' practice squad, and was signed to the team's roster after Brett Swain sustained a season-ending knee injury.

  • Jordan Kent (WR) St. Louis Rams

    Updated 11/18/09 8:35 AM

The St. Louis Rams have signed Kent to replace Keenan Burton, the receiver lost for the season to a knee injury.

Impacts: Kent is 6-foot-4 and spent training camp with Seattle. He was waived on Sept. 5. He was a sixth-round draft pick of the Seahawks in 2007 and split time between the practice squad and active roster.

  • Braylon Edwards (WR) New York Jets

    Updated 11/17/09 4:10 PM

Edwards has pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge after he was accused of punching a man outside a downtown nightclub last month.

Impacts: Edwards was arraigned in Cleveland Municipal Court on Tuesday. The 26-year-old was traded to the New York Jets two days after he was accused of punching a friend of NBA star LeBron James on Oct. 5. Edwards waived his right to a speedy trial and was scheduled for a Dec. 12 court hearing.

  • Derrick Mason (WR) Baltimore Ravens

    Updated 11/17/09 2:44 PM

Mason had three catches for 78 yards in a 16-0 win Monday at Cleveland.

Impacts: The former Tennessee Oilers draft pick remained stuck on four touchdowns for the second straight week. The veteran has a short week to try to get untracked against the banged-up secondary of unbeaten Indianapolis.

  • Brady Quinn (QB) Cleveland Browns

    Updated 11/17/09 2:44 PM

Quinn fell to 1-6 all-time as an NFL starter Monday in a 16-0 loss to the Ravens. He was 13 of 31 for 99 yards with two INTs, including one returned 48 yards by Dawan Landry for a Baltimore touchdown.

Impacts: Making matters worse, Quinn made a questionable chop block on Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs following an interception and legendary Ravens LB Lewis accused Quinn of a dirty play. Quinn defended the controversial chop block, but his skills as a quarterback are indefensible right now. Fantasy owners should try to avoid using Quinn.

  • Ray Rice (RB) Baltimore Ravens

    Updated 11/17/09 2:44 PM

Rice rushed 20 times for 89 yards and a TD in a 16-0 win Monday at Cleveland. He also had three receptions for 15 yards and threw an incompletion on a third-down pass play.

Impacts: Rice could have topped 100 yards if not for the ill-advised pass attempt. He has five rushing TDs in the last four games for the Ravens.

  • Jamal Lewis (RB) Cleveland Browns

    Updated 11/17/09 2:44 PM

Lewis carried 10 times for 36 yards Monday in a 16-0 loss to the Ravens.

Impacts: The retiring Lewis had five 1,000-yard seasons with the Ravens, but found things tough against his former team. Lewis has also gained 1,000 yards each of his first two full years with Cleveland, but he has already said that he is frustrated with coach Eric Mangini and won't be back for a fourth season.

  • Terrell Suggs (OLB) Baltimore Ravens

    Updated 11/17/09 2:44 PM

Suggs suffered a knee injury after a questionable chop block by Browns quarterback Brady Quinn in Monday's 16-0 win.

Impacts: Suggs limped to the locker room. It's not known how long he'll be out. "That's an illegal blow," LB Ray Lewis said. "I don't care how you want to look at it.''

  • Joe Flacco (QB) Baltimore Ravens

    Updated 11/17/09 2:44 PM

Flacco was 13 of 18 for 155 yards and no TDs or INTs in a 16-0 win Monday at Cleveland.

Impacts: Flacco provided little fantasy value on a dreary night in Cleveland, but he didn't sound too disappointed in letting down his fantasy owners. "I guess I agree it wasn't pretty," he said. "It was an ugly win, but that's the way some wins are in the NFL."

  • Todd Heap (TE) Baltimore Ravens

    Updated 11/17/09 2:44 PM

Heap had four catches for 43 yards in a 16-0 win Monday at Cleveland.

Impacts: Heap has not reached the end zone since the Ravens' second game of the season and may have to step out of his low-key demeanor and demand the ball from Ravens QB Joe Flacco.

  • Jeff Reed (K) Pittsburgh Steelers

    Updated 11/17/09 1:43 PM

Reed has been absolved by the Steelers for his poor tacking effort Sunday in an 18-12 loss to the Bengals in which he failed to bring down Bernard Scott on a 96-yard kickoff return for a TD.

Impacts: Reed only halfheartedly tried to bring down Scott, but Tomlin won't blame a kicker for the latest touchdown. Kickers rarely have the speed, mobility or quickness to do more than get in the way of a returner downfield. "Man, I am not going to go down to evaluating Jeff Reed as a tackler," coach Mike Tomlin said. "When it comes down to that, we have failed as a coverage unit. I don't lose any sleep on the quality of Jeff Reed's tackles."

  • Steven Hauschka (K) Baltimore Ravens

    Updated 11/17/09 1:23 PM

The Baltimore Ravens have cut Hauschka, who missed a 36-yard field goal and had a conversion blocked in Monday night's 16-0 win over Cleveland.

Impacts: No replacement was immediately announced. Former Jets kicker Mike Nugent and former Cowboys kicker Billy Cundiff worked out for the team last week.

  • Shawne Merriman (OLB) San Diego Chargers

    Updated 11/17/09 12:53 PM

Reality TV star Tila Tequila is suing Merriman in a filing alleging domestic violence. Attorney Cyrus Nownejad told The Associated Press that Tequila is seeking $1.5 million in damages.

Impacts: Merriman was arrested on Sept. 6 after Tequila signed a citizen's arrest warrant accusing him of battery and false imprisonment at his suburban home. District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis declined to charge Merriman. Merriman told the AP in an e-mail that he hadn't seen a copy of the suit. His attorney didn't immediately return a call seeking comment Tuesday.

  • Arnold Harrison (LB) Cleveland Browns

    Updated 11/17/09 10:52 AM

The Steelers have waived Harrison, the first player to lose his job after three kickoff return touchdowns were allowed by Pittsburgh's coverage unit in the last four games.

Impacts: Harrison had played for the Steelers since 2005. He is not related to Steelers Pro Bowl LB James Harrison.

  • Josh Cribbs (WR) Cleveland Browns

    Updated 11/17/09 10:11 AM

Cribbs has been released from a hospital after being injured on the final play of Monday night's loss to Baltimore.

Impacts: Agent J.R. Rickerts said Cribbs was sent home early Tuesday morning after being evaluated for several hours by doctors. Rickerts said he spoke with Cribbs and that the versatile five-year veteran was in good spirits. He did not know if Cribbs had sustained a concussion.

  • Larry Johnson (RB) Cincinnati Bengals

    Updated 11/17/09 9:09 AM

Johnson has agreed to terms with the Cincinnati Bengals to be one of their backups, giving the AFC North leaders depth at the position, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press.

Impacts: Johnson reached the contract agreement Tuesday, according to the person, speaking on condition of anonymity because the team had not made an announcement. The Bengals have to make a roster move to clear a spot for Johnson, who will be fourth on the depth chart at the outset.

  • Haruki Nakamura (FS) Baltimore Ravens

    Updated 11/16/09 7:50 PM

Nakamura left the Ravens' game with a broken ankle Monday.

Impacts: The injury likely will keep him out the rest of the season. He's important on special teams but doesn't start.

  • Marion Barber (RB) Dallas Cowboys

    Updated 11/16/09 4:31 PM

Barber had five carries for 26 yards Sunday in the Cowboys' 17-7 loss at Green Bay.

Impacts: Dallas never really got its running game going on Sunday, and the five carries were the fewest of the year by far for Barber. A player who once looked like a fantasy star has been embroiled in a tailback-by-committee approach in Dallas, and it's tough to figure what Barber will do each week.

  • Ryan Grant (RB) Green Bay Packers

    Updated 11/16/09 4:31 PM

Grant ran for 79 yards on 19 carries in the Packers' 17-7 win over Dallas on Sunday.

Impacts: This was just a decent fantasy effort for Grant, and it would help if he could find the end zone more after totaling two touchdowns in the last seven games. But he has racked up 443 rushing yards in the last five contests.

  • Greg Jennings (WR) Green Bay Packers

    Updated 11/16/09 4:31 PM

Jennings had four catches for 45 yards in the Packers' 17-7 win over Dallas on Sunday.

Impacts: Jennings has been oddly quiet this season as the Packers have been spreading the ball around. He's gone six straight weeks without a 100-yard performance, totaling just one touchdown in that stretch, adding up to a disappointing fantasy campaign. Perhaps he can rebound against San Francisco's 29th-ranked pass defense this week.

  • Tony Romo (QB) Dallas Cowboys

    Updated 11/16/09 4:31 PM

Romo was 24 of 39 for 251 yards with a touchdown and an interception, and he was sacked five times in the Cowboys' 17-7 loss at Green Bay on Sunday.

Impacts: It was the first subpar game for Romo in five weeks after leading Dallas to four straight victories. Look for him to have more time to throw next week against Washington.

  • Roy E. Williams (WR) Dallas Cowboys

    Updated 11/16/09 4:31 PM

Williams had his first 100-yard effort as a member of the Cowboys, totaling 105 yards and a touchdown in Dallas' 17-7 loss to Green Bay on Sunday.

Impacts: Williams did lose a fumble after one long catch, but it's a good sign that he seems to finally be developing some chemistry with Tony Romo. He'll try to keep the momentum going against Washington on Sunday after the Redskins allowed a big day to another big receiver - Denver's Brandon Marshall - last week.
