Team Name: The Rhein Fire is named for the Northrhein-Westphalia region of Germany and the mammoth 820-mile Rhein River that forms Germany's southwest boundary. In 2003 the team played its home games in Gelsenkirchen for the first time due to the demolition of their old home, Rheinstadion Düsseldorf.

Stadium: The LTU arena is the brand new multi-functional arena in Düsseldorf built on the same spot as the former Rheinstadion, which was the home of the Rhein Fire from 1995-2002. The new LTU arena cost 218 million Euros and features a convertible roof and state-of-the-art architecture.

City Düsseldorf is the capital of Northrhine-Westphalia and is located in the Rhein-Ruhr-Valley region. Situated on the western fringe of Germany, the densely populated region covers 200 kilometers. Düsseldorf is well know for fashion and it´s carnival. The largest cities surrounding Düsseldorf (population 577,250) are Duisburg (537,000) and Essen (626,000) to the North, Wuppertal (384,000) to the East, Cologne (1,000,000) and Bonn (294,000) to the South.

Amateur Football:Teams from Northrhein-Westphalia are among the most successful of Germany's amateur football. The Düsseldorf Panthers have stood on the winning sideline for five German Bowls. They also won the Euro Bowl '95. The club's juniors have accumulated seven national titles.
