Auburn QB Newton spending two days with Panthers

Auburn quarterback Cam Newton on Tuesday began a two-day visit with the Carolina Panthers, who own the first overall selection in the upcoming NFL draft.

Newton, the Heisman Trophy winner who led Auburn to the BCS national championship in January, is the No. 3-rated quarterback prospect by NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock.

The 6-foot-5, 248-pound Newton visited the Buffalo Bills (No. 3 overall pick) last week, and he has seven other visits scheduled, his agent, Tony Paige, told The Associated Press last week.

Those teams include the Denver Broncos (No. 2), Cincinnati Bengals (No. 4), Cleveland Browns (No. 6), Tennessee Titans (No. 8), Washington Redskins (No. 10), Minnesota Vikings (No. 12) and Miami Dolphins (No. 15).
