There hasn't been much movement regarding the St. Louis Rams signing the No. 1 overall pick before the NFL draft starts Thursday night, but it isn't entirely out of the question.

The Rams are open to doing a deal ahead of time, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, but they don't consider it a prerequisite of any sort.

After spending last week finalizing their draft board, the Rams planned to touch base with the agents for several players who are in consideration for the top pick. Most NFL executives expect Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford to be the selection, and he worked out for the team Friday.

There's always the possibility that a trade for the pick could develop, although the odds of that seem slight right now. The Cleveland Browns have expressed interest in the No. 1 selection and said they would take Bradford.
