Analysis

Strengths

Has the frame and toughness to make a living near the line of scrimmage. Leader of the secondary. Worked his tail off after biceps injury to make it back for the playoff game against Alabama. Unwilling to wait on running backs to find him and will come to them. Recognizes play action quickly and shows decent instincts.

Weaknesses

Too often plays flatfooted. Runs with heavy feet and has a difficult time opening hips for necessary change of direction. Reactive athleticism is marginal and leads to missed tackles in space. Lacking desire range to play on top and cover skills to play the slot. Stiff and upright in pedal. Needs better recognition from zone.

Draft Projection

Undrafted free agent

Bottom Line

Williamson checks the box for frame but is missing the necessary athleticism and cover components to be considered a well-rounded safety. While he has the aggressiveness to play near the line of scrimmage, he might not be a special enough talent hear his name called in April.
