Analysis

Strengths

Has a tight, quick release. Will put some pace on the ball and and fit it into tight windows near the end zone. Able to throw deep ball with touch and adequate accuracy. Mobile and productive as a runner, racking up 1,380 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns as a starter. Understood his role and stayed within himself. Productive three-year starter with leadership qualities.

Weaknesses

Completion percentage plummeted over last two seasons. Missed three games in 2014 after injuring foot. Below-average poise from pocket. Suspect internal clock and will take a sack rather than throwing ball away. Balance as a passer and decision making dipped sharply at times. Inconsistent ball placement when throwing to targets on move and drive accuracy was an issue after foot injury. Below-average anticipation.

Draft Projection

Undrafted

Bottom Line

Average size and average talent. The three-year starter can look impressive at times, but fails to play with the consistency of an NFL quarterback. Kelly's ability to extend plays/gain yards with his feet is nice, but he will have to develop more feel inside the pocket to have a shot in the NFL.
