Analysis

Strengths

Plays with a great deal of intensity and effort. Gets down line of scrimmage and looks to close down back-side cutback lanes. Willing to chase and pursue with effort. Gets good arm extension into tackles and plays with decent strength when bull-rushing. Flashes a pretty good spin move and arm-over as a pass rusher, but must make more consistent use of them.

Weaknesses

Has issues holding up at the point of attack against tackles. Needs more power in lower body to prove he can leverage his run responsibility if he is staying at defensive end. Struggles to maintain his balance and base against down blocks. Lacks necessary burst to threaten the edge as pass rusher. Needs to improve secondary pass-rush moves and string them together.

Draft Projection

Priority free agent

Bottom Line

High-effort collegiate defensive end who lacks the necessary point-of-attack power and rarely flashes on tape as a pass rusher. Lacks the quickness to offset his lack of size and will have his work cut out for him in trying to make an NFL roster.
