Draft Analysis:

  • 6'7" Height
  • 263LBS. Weight

Above-average size for the position. Has frame to add more muscle and bulk. Was a "dirty work" tight end for Alabama. Plays with proper hand placement and works his feet into position to seal off his gap on inside runs. Played through injured ankle and sprained knee that limited his production during season.

Base gets much too narrow as run blocker. Leans into his block and can be discarded and knocked off balance. Struggles to generate clear wins in run game. Lacking footwork necessary to pass protect. Leans into his cuts/turns and gives routes away to safeties in coverage. Unable to handle explosive inside moves and needs more core strength.

Draft Projection

Bottom Line

Big tight end who came into Alabama as a heralded prospect but departed as an unproductive pass-catcher and very marginal run blocker. While Vogler's play was somewhat stymied by injury, it is unlikely that scouts can find enough good tape to give him a draftable grade.
