Analysis

Strengths

Long legs with ability to get on top of off corners who get caught sleeping. Excels in vertical routes. Good feel reading defender's weight shift and altering routes to take advantage and maximize separation. Tracks ball and adjusts to get under throws. Used from slot and outside. Leaper who can elevate and contort body to make difficult catch. Missed four games after injuring sternum while making an incredible diving catch. Very good catch radius. Can dig the low throw out. Calm, focused feet near sidelines.

Weaknesses

Shows hip stiffness, causing him to round off routes. Unpolished route runner who runs small variety of simple routes. Unimpressive when asked to make contested catches. Shows hesitation to commit to the catch over the middle and most of his drops were contested or between the hashes. Disinterested run blocker who mostly tries to get in the way.

Draft Projection

Priority free agent

Bottom Line

Stiff-hipped vertical wide receiver with an ability to make the difficult catch, but a propensity to lose focus when challenged. Davis has the talent to challenge for a back-end roster spot, but his competitive nature is being questioned by some teams.
