Draft Analysis:

  • 5'10" Height
  • 30 3/4" Arm Length
  • 251LBS. Weight
  • 9 3/8" Hands

Tough, aggressive competitor with strong, explosive hands and a terrific football-playing temperament. Plays low to the ground with good base, balance and leverage. Motor is always charged. Is instinctive and locates the ball surprisingly well for his lack of height. Outstanding career sack production (20), including 10 as a senior. Produced a 4.34-second 20-yard shuttle and 6.91-second three-cone time at his pro day, which would have topped all defensive tackles and fullbacks at the combine.

Extremely short and light-framed for the defensive line. Has very short arms and can be Velcroed and washed by double teams. Too easily stymied if he does not win with quickness. Only played on his feet (as a linebacker) during his redshirt season and must prove he can acclimate to an offensive playbook.

Draft Projection

Priority free agent

Bottom Line

Short, stocky, undersized college nose tackle with the urgency, hand violence and toughness desired at the fullback position in the pros. Lacks length for the interior defensive line, but might even be able to supply a spark in a situational role for a Tampa-2 front given his elite quickness and gap discipline. A Rod Marinelli-type player.
