NFL Mock Draft 4.0: Dion Jordan rises to No. 2

With the flurry of free agency moves made over the past week, draft needs for each team have been altered. For example, just a few weeks ago, the Miami Dolphins were in desperate need of help at wide receiver. Fast-forward to today, and they have Mike Wallace and Brandon Gibson joining a re-signed Brian Hartline.

I don't project trades in these mock drafts, but there are a few teams that could be interested in moving up. The likely targets will be the top cornerback and the third offensive tackle. Most teams believe there is a steep drop-off at those positions in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Well, without further ado, here's my latest mock draft, version 4.0:
  1. Pick No.
    1
    OT
    Texas A&M
The Chiefs filled numerous roster holes during the free agency period. They'd love to trade down, but Joeckel still makes sense if they are stuck at No. 1.
  2. Pick No.
    2
    DE
    Oregon
The Jaguars entered the offseason with a dire need to upgrade the pass rush. Jordan has enormous potential in that capacity and represents a good scheme fit.
  3. Pick No.
    3
    DT
    Florida
Oakland's roster is bare. I wouldn't rule out Geno Smith with this pick, but the Raiders could definitely use a dynamic defender like Floyd.
  4. Pick No.
    4
    DT
    Utah
The Eagles have focused on getting bigger on the defensive side of the ball. The trio of Isaac Sopoaga, Fletcher Cox and Lotulelei would be tough to run against.
  5. Pick No.
    5
    DE
    BYU
The Lions are going to have a tough call to make with this pick. There are top-flight players at three key positions: offensive tackle, cornerback and defensive end. I'm going to stick with Ansah, though Eric Fisher would be very tempting.
  6. Pick No.
    6
    CB
    Alabama
The Browns addressed the OLB position in free agency by signing Paul Kruger and Quentin Groves. They have a major need at CB, and Milliner looks like their top target.
  7. Pick No.
    7
    OT
    Central Michigan
There's always a ton of bogus information floating around this time of year, but I'm starting to believe the buzz that the Cardinals will address the QB position with their second pick. Fisher would be an outstanding value, and he fills a need.
  8. Pick No.
    8
    QB
    West Virginia
The Bills dumped Ryan Fitzpatrick and almost certainly will use their top pick on his replacement. If they stay here, I think it will be Geno. If they bail out of the pick, all signs point to Ryan Nassib.
  9. Pick No.
    9
    OLB
    Georgia
The Jets need more pass rush, and Jones is the perfect player to provide it.
  10. Pick No.
    10
    OG
    North Carolina
The Titans have focused their attention on becoming a physical football team. I love the addition of free-agent OG Andy Levitre. I think they could add another interior offensive lineman with their top pick. Cooper is a stud and he can play all three interior positions.
  11. Pick No.
    11
    OT
    Oklahoma
In this scenario, the Chargers are elated to see Johnson still on the board. He represents an enormous upgrade at the position and could very well end up being the top offensive lineman in this draft class.
  12. Pick No.
    12
    OG
    Alabama
The run on O-linemen continues with this selection. The Dolphins just miss out on one of the three elite offensive tackles, but Warmack is an excellent consolation prize. Wide receiver is no longer a pressing need, but Tavon Austin still might be tempting.
  13. Pick No.
    13
    WR
    West Virginia
    Projected trade to Buccaneers
The Bucs are still involved in the Darrelle Revis trade discussions. If they can get that deal done without giving up this pick, it would free them up to take the electric Austin. He would fit perfectly in the slot next to Vincent Jackson.
  14. Pick No.
    14
    DT
    Missouri
Richardson is an explosive, disruptive presence along the defensive line. He would provide the interior pass rush Carolina sorely lacks.
  15. Pick No.
    15
Mingo would be a good fit as an outside linebacker in the new defensive scheme employed by Rob Ryan. I'm not as high on him as others are, but there is no denying his raw tools.
  16. Pick No.
    16
    SS
    Texas
Vaccaro didn't test that well at the NFL Scouting Combine, but he is outstanding on tape. He would start from Day 1 for St. Louis; his versatility would be a luxury in Jeff Fisher's defense.
  17. Pick No.
    17
    CB
    Florida St.
The Steelers have a multitude of needs on the defensive side of the ball. Adding a big, talented cornerback like Rhodes would be a nice start to their draft.
  18. Pick No.
    18
    DE
    Florida St.
Dallas would love to see one of the top interior offensive linemen slide down to this slot, but that isn't likely to happen. Werner would be a good fit for Monte Kiffin's defensive scheme and would help form an excellent trio of edge rushers for the Cowboys.
  19. Pick No.
    19
    ILB
    Georgia
Ogletree is one of the best cover linebackers I've ever graded. He needs to get better at taking on blocks in the run game, but his ability to cover tight ends would give a huge advantage to any defensive coordinator. He'd fit perfectly in the Giants' scheme.
  20. Pick No.
    20
    OT
    Alabama
Fluker isn't very athletic, but he's a mauler in the run game. He could play either right tackle or slide inside to play right guard. He would provide a nice boost to Matt Forte and the rest of the rushing attack in Chicago.
  21. Pick No.
    21
    OT
    Florida St.
Watson is very raw, but he has outstanding size, quick feet and balance. Cincinnati has one of the NFL's top offensive line coaches in Paul Alexander; he could turn Watson into a reliable starting tackle in a short period of time.
  22. Pick No.
    22
    WR
    Tennessee
Patterson very easily could go much higher than 22nd, but in some years, receivers get pushed down the board. The Rams can't afford to pass on him twice.
  23. Pick No.
    23
    WR
    California
Despite the addition of Greg Jennings, the Vikings still need another weapon in the passing game. Austin or Patterson would be ideal in terms of replacing the explosive element lost with the trade of Percy Harvin; however, if they are both off the board, Allen can be a solid complementary piece in this offense.
  24. Pick No.
    24
    ILB
    Notre Dame
The Colts were extremely active in free agency, filling several needs on both sides of the ball. One area where they still could use some help is at the linebacker spot. Te'o will be a productive pro despite lacking top-tier speed for the position.
  25. Pick No.
    25
    DT
    North Carolina
Williams doesn't wow on tape, but he's steady and solid. The Vikings' defense needs to get younger up front; Williams would be a solid addition.
  26. Pick No.
    26
    TE
    Notre Dame
After losing Greg Jennings via free agency, the Packers could be in the market for another offensive weapon. Eifert's combination of size, speed and ball skills is very impressive.
  27. Pick No.
    27
    FS
    Florida
Two positions the Texans need to address are wide receiver and safety. Fortunately for them, this draft is deep at both spots. DeAndre Hopkins and Robert Woods are two receivers who could come into play with this selection.
  28. Pick No.
    28
    CB
    Washington
The Broncos need to get younger at cornerback. Trufant has seen his stock soar since the end of the college season.
  29. Pick No.
    29
    DE
    SMU
Hunt is one of the wild cards in this draft class. Despite his enormous size, I actually think his best pro position is left defensive end in a 4-3 scheme. His ability to block kicks is a HUGE bonus. Bill Belichick isn't afraid to take a risk, and Hunt could provide a huge payoff.
  30. Pick No.
    30
    TE
    Stanford
The return of future Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez is great news for Matt Ryan and Co., but that shouldn't preclude the Falcons from adding his eventual replacement. Ertz is incredibly instinctive as a route runner and has phenomenal ball skills.
  31. Pick No.
    31
    DT
    Alabama
After losing Isaac Sopoaga to the Eagles in free agency, the 49ers need to add a big body to their defensive line. Williams is insanely strong at the point of attack in the run game and does have a little upside as a pocket-pushing pass rusher.
  32. Pick No.
    32
    DE
    Florida St.
Carradine is coming off an injury, but he could be a steal at this point in the draft. When healthy, he's a better version of Paul Kruger.
