Overview

Taylor is a smart kid with plenty of experience, but it is unclear if he has the ceiling to make an impact at the next level. He understands pass protection, has a good first step and is a hard worker that plays with a chip on his shoulder. His aggression sometimes gets him into trouble as he will lunge at opponents making him susceptible to counter moves and delayed blitzes. He also lacks the lower body strength to consistently generate a good push in the running game. Overall, Taylor is very coachable and he should be a late round pick despite his physical limitations.

Strengths

Taylor has a quick first step. Excels at pre-snap reads and directs pass protection. Wide base allows him to hold his ground against the bull rush and he uses his hands effectively to keep defenders on their heels. Aggressive kid who works hard to sustain blocks and looks to punish defenders.

Weaknesses

A bit undersized and may struggle to block bigger lineman at the next level. Lacks adequate lateral agility, plays too high and is vulnerable to double moves. Does not have the strength to be a dominant drive blocker. Exposed by stunts and blitzes due to aggressive style of play.

Grade

2.0
