Overview

Brown broke out in his senior campaign, earning first-team All-MEAC honors with his 56 catches for 887 yards and nine scores. The Lackawanna Junior College transfer used his size and playmaking ability to impress scouts, even those sent to Virginia to study fellow receiver Jeremy Gilchrist. Now both are late-round prospects, possibly more if they excel in postseason workouts.

Analysis

Positives: Good height, long arms and adequate build for the position. Runs through tackles in the open field, and works hard to get the extra yards for a first down or score. Uses his size to get space on deep passes. Decent foot quickness for his size, has potential as a No. 3 possession receiver. Good initial quickness off the snap to get into his route. Able to snatch the ball from the air and head upfield. Able to make a man miss with the ball in his hands. Tracks the ball well over either shoulder.

Negatives: Lacks elite speed, and may have trouble separating from NFL corners. Must improve his route running, as he will round off. Not very strong, and can get tackled or have the ball knocked loose too easily. Could struggle getting off the line of scrimmage. Inconsistent hands. Takes advantage of playing in a spread offense and facing smaller corners from a lower level of competition.
