Overview

Pianalto is a pass-catching tight end with good speed, but he is almost chronically injured and may lack the durability to play at the next level. He has decent size and the straight-line speed to stretch the field down the seam, but he lacks fluidity and struggles to gain separation. He has reliable hands and finds holes in zone coverage, but he does not pick up yards after the catch. He also seems to be more of a finesse blocker and lacks the strength to generate a push. Pianalto might lack the talent to overcome his durability issues and justify a late round pick.

Analysis

Strengths

Pianalto has a large frame and enough speed to stretch the middle of the field. Shows the ability to find soft spots in zone coverage. Has soft hands and the body control to catch balls away from his chest. Takes good angles run blocking and shows the ability to get to the second level.

Weaknesses

Tight hips limit his agility and he will not separate in man coverage. Will not make people miss in the open field. Lacks the strength to be an effective drive blocker and struggles to sustain blocks. Does not flash a mean streak and there are some questions about his competiveness. Extremely injury prone.
