Saunders looks like an NFL tight end, but he may not get that opportunity after being dismissed from the Gamecocks in September. He did not play as a senior and there are serious concerns about his character. On the football field, Saunders has excellent size, good hands and is difficult to cover in both man and zone coverage. He has enough speed to stretch the field and shows the ability to break tackles after the catch. He is raw as a run blocker, but he has enough pass catching skills to be a starter and could still be a second day pick despite his off-the-field issues.

Saunders has prototypical size. Possesses a quick first step and the speed to stretch the field down the seam. Fluid enough get open in man coverage and consistently finds soft spots in zone. Has great hands and a large catching radius. Shows a bit of a wiggle to make people miss in the open field.

Lacks explosion out of his breaks and will struggle to separate from more athletic linebackers. A bit raw as a route runner. Does not show the desire to be a solid run blocker and plays with poor leverage and technique. Missed his senior year after being dismissed from the team.
