WO36
Verran Tucker
WR California
- 6'2" Height
- 33 1/4" Arm Length
- 200LBS. Weight
- 9 1/4" Hands
Overview
Tucker is a good sized receiver with excellent receiving skills and good straight-line speed. He will struggle making the hard cuts and multiple cuts needed for the next level. He is a little stiff in the hips and does not do a great job of dropping his hips to get in and out of hard breaks. He shows good ball skills and will extend to catch the ball away from his frame and can adjust to slightly off target throws. He is not that elusive in the open field and needs a seam to use his speed if he wants to advance the ball.
Analysis
Strengths
Tucker is well built with a large frame. Possesses enough top-end speed to stretch the field. Has soft reliable hands and catches the ball away from his chest. Shows the ability to contort his body to make difficult catches in traffic.
Weaknesses
Keeps hips too high and does not run efficient underneath routes due to limited lateral agility. Can not consistently gain separation out of breaks and will struggle to get open in man coverage. Lacks elusiveness in the open field and is not a threat to run after the catch.
