Jefferson was a four-year lettermen in football who lead his team to CIF Section Championship game three years in a row, with a victory in 2007. As a senior in 2008, was the West Yosemite League Player of the Year and the Tulare County Player of the Year while also earning first-team all-league honors. Jefferson?s sports hero is Terrell Davis. His cousin, Nikke Blue played basketball at UCLA and in the WNBA.

Jefferson redshirted his first year on the team. In his first active season, he carried the ball only three times for 26 yards and touchdown. He also notched two tackles on special teams. In 2011, Jefferson saw more time, as he gained 429 yards and five touchdowns. Jefferson also had six catches for 48 yards. As a redshirt junior, Jefferson was the main back for the Wolfpack, and had his strongest season. Jefferson carried the ball 375 times for 1,883 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also caught 22 passes for 170 yards and a touchdown. This season had Jefferson named a third-team AP All-American.

Extremely productive junior season, showed he can handle a high carry total. Very patient running back. Presses the line and waits for a hole to develop. Good vision. Possesses some burst through the line of scrimmage, and runs with authority. Makes smart decisions, takes what is given.

Runs with a high pad level. Linear athlete, doesn't offer much in terms of agility. Won't make the first person miss very often. Poor technique as a blocker. Lacks an explosive aspect to his game. Only one season of production.

Bottom Line

Jefferson is a back with great patience and vision. He has a good initial burst through the line of scrimmage, but he struggles to make people miss. He doesn't have great top end speed or elite power to compensate for this issue. A team might use a late selection of Jefferson for his reliability as a runner.
