Overview

Colburn lacks the arm talent and decision-making ability to be viewed as a potential starter but could provide depth for a team with West Coast principles. At times, displays great leadership qualities, composure and command of the offense but doesn't display enough consistency moving through his progressions and can force the ball late in tight games. Is adept in the short passing game when he's in rhythm but accuracy drops toward the sidelines and on deep throws. Not afraid to sit in the pocket and can shrug off arm tackles but overall mobility is lacking. Colburn is a likely rookie free agent.

Analysis

Strengths

Colburn possesses great size for an NFL quarterback prospect. Commands the huddle. Stands tough in the pocket. Does not go down from light contact. Displays good accuracy in the short, timing, passing game. Smart kid. Team captain. No durability / injury question marks.

Weaknesses

Does not have the arm strength to fit the ball into tight windows downfield. Accuracy is below average on intermediate throws to the perimeter and down the field. Does not consistently display the ability to scan the entire field and move through progressions. Inconsistent drop mechanics. Not a threat to run.
