Overview

Parker will have a hard time making the transition to the next level, as he lacks the top-end speed most under-sized receivers need in order to catch an eye. He was dismissed from the Florida State football team for multiple off-field issues and needs to convince teams that his spotty history is behind him. He is definitely quicker than he is fast but is not as precise a route-runner as his role would in the NFL would require. He has never been great when it comes to taking care of the little things and remaining focused on the field. His best shot at making a team, initially, could be as a return specialist.

Analysis

Strengths

Parker is a quick-twitched athlete who explodes out of his breaks to gain separation in man coverage. He is elusive after the catch and shows the vision to recognize running lanes. Catches the ball away from his body without idling down and can make a difficult grab over the middle.

Weaknesses

Parker is not a burner and will be unable to stretch the field at the next level. Takes plays off and can be stifled by the press. Loses concentration too often and drops a lot of catchable balls. Left Florida State after three seasons and three arrests between 2006 and early 2009, raising serious concerns about his character and maturity.

50-69 Draftable Player 4th-7th A prospect with the ability to make team as a backup/role player. Needs to be a special teams contributor at applicable positions. Players in the high range of this category might have long-term potential.
20-49 Free Agent UDFA A player with solid measurables, intangibles, college achievements, or a developing skill that warrants an opportunity in an NFL camp. In the right situation, he could earn a place on a 53-man roster, but most likely will be a practice squad player or a camp body.
