Overview

Thomas started every game the past two years. Is undersized for the position, yet had 85 tackles and six interceptions in 2011. He excels in run support and although he wasn't used on special teams in college, is a likely special teams candidate due to his superb tackling skills and overall physicality. Could go undrafted, but has a good chance of making a 53-man roster.

Analysis

Strengths

Thomas is a competitive and active safety who is very physical in run support. He has good, urgent foot speed in the open field when playing zone and can keep receivers off their route with his physicality in man.

Weaknesses

Thomas struggles playing the ball and lacks awareness when cut loose in the open field to cover receivers. He could be a liability in coverage as he takes risks and is quick to bite on double moves, and doesn't have the change of direction or burst to recover when beat.
