Overview

Reliable punter who has flashed leg strength, accuracy, height, and the overall athleticism required to make an NFL roster. Though he hasn't been blessed with the quality of special teams' coaching of the BCS programs here, Tolson's raw skills were intriguing enough for him to be among only six punters invited to the Combine.

Analysis

Strengths

Positives: Good build and overall athleticism for the position. ... Played quarterback and safety in high school in addition to punting. ... Quick to secure the snap and punt the ball, Tolson only takes two steps before getting the kick off and did not have a punt blocked during his Army career. ... He flashes good leg strength, and although Army didn't ask him to directional punt much, he shows good accuracy in dropping punts inside the 20-yard line. Negatives: Only marginal hang-time. ... Struggled to get punts off as fast against a steady wind throughout his career, a problem that arose while at the Texas Vs. Nation game.
