Overview

Burris is a very instinctive, fly-around linebacker who has the size and strength to play a number of roles at the next level. He is big, fast, and physical and will contribute on special teams; he could even contest for a starting role early on given that he is a low-floor, low-ceiling prospect who is likely as good as he is going to get; that's a good all-around player though, with fifth- or six-round value.

Analysis

Strengths

Burris will blow up screens one play and turn to run with a tight end downfield on the next. Works well within the box, where he uses his size and strength to shed lineman. Understands his role, and quickly fills gaps or gets outside to set on a fullback and keep a runner inside. A natural linebacker, Burris can drop in zone coverage and cover in man, but could be a great 3-4 inside LB candidate.

Weaknesses

Burris is not an outstanding pass defender; he gets the job done, but his speed is exposed slightly in space. Could be like the Patriots' Brandon Spikes, both good and bad, as Spikes has trouble against the pass.
