Wilson was an outstanding junior college player who continued to perform well at South Florida. He is a short, well-built player with average speed for the position. He is a solid reactor with good instincts as plays unfold. Wilson is a tough, hard-nosed defender but will get pushed around too often at the point of attack. He is inconsistent to separate and shed when taking on blockers and might be best as a covered-up linebacker at the next level. He lacks great range and quickness in pursuit and is likely to be exploited in man coverage in the NFL. Wilson was a good college player who has limitations that likely will relegate him to being a core special teams contributor as well as a solid backup in the NFL.

Thickly built kid who throws himself into lead blockers. Reads the guard quickly and flows to the ballcarrier. Understands throwing lanes and shows the ability to break up passes on underneath routes. Solid tackler who breaks down ball carriers in the open field.

Wilson lacks the speed to be a sideline-to-sideline player and will not be able to stick with backs and tight ends in man coverage at the next level. A bit stiff in the hips, which causes him to lose speed in transition. Does not get his hands inside the blocker's pads and struggles to disengage. Very limited pass rusher.
