With a thumb injury sidelining him for five games in 2006, O'Connell entered his senior year barely a blip on the NFL radar. He proved his health -- and ability -- as a senior, however, and ranks as one of the draft's more intriguing developmental quarterback prospects. Blessed with a rare combination of size and athleticism, O'Connell has shown considerable improvement over the past two years in his reading of defenses and overall passing accuracy.
