Overview

Cullen started for two years at Utah after earning the starting spot in his first camp after being the top JuCo prospect in the nation in 2010. He enjoyed a quick descent and development of his skills at Utah, and his potential is a key value to his draft-ability. He is a strong, natural lineman who looks comfortable playing from the tackle position.

Analysis

Strengths

Cullen understands how to play the position and looks natural in terms of proper angling, pad placement, and pass setting. Although rigid, he is an explosive mover and can easily chip an end before working up field to fit on a linebacker in the screen game. He is a smart mover in the open field and can fit on his blocks well. He has a strong anchor that has potential to develop and could even thrive if moved inside to guard where his height isn't a liability. Cullen has been a reliable run blocker for a productive Utah offense and has been durable since arriving on campus.

Weaknesses

Cullen isn't natural in terms of bend and flexibility. He relies on explosion and smart angles to be an effective blocker but isn't the most athletic prospect at his size and has trouble at times in and out of his stance to keep balance and maintain power and leverage. He likes to fit on his blocks and position well, and he is generally a good mirror player from this position. Cullen will struggle as a rigid, reactionary blocker in the NFL.
