Teams looking for a run-defending presence at left defensive end will have to keep Thompson in mind. He certainly looks the part physically, and has the strength and high effort to contribute early in his career. He lacks burst off the snap, however, and with marginal use of his hands he is only an adequate pass rusher overall.
