Overview

Jackson is an early-entry junior out of little-known McNeese State in Louisiana. He transferred to McNeese after two years starting at Tennessee, leaving because of a fallout with the staff there. Jackson is an electric athlete who could make an immediate impression at the next level. He is sudden, quick twitched and fast enough to cover the deep half of the field against the SEC's best receivers. Teams may be put off by the issues surrounding his transfer history, but Jackson is an undeniable athlete who could contribute early at both the corner and safety position. He has third-round value with a strong opportunity to ascend.

Analysis

Strengths

Jackson is an impressive athlete who has a noticeable explosion in every step. He changes directions with ease and can move fluidly in his backpedal from both an erect position at safety and a more tradional drop at corner. He is a versatile defensive back who posseses all the traits to be an impact player from any position. As a potential safety, he has incredible range to recover and shows good instincts when breaking on the ball and delivering blows on ballcarriers. As a corner, he mirrors well and uses his arm length to keep receivers close to him.

Weaknesses

Jackson needs to improve his tackling technique, as he can fall off at times trying to deliver a big blow. He has worked at both the safety and corner positions and could be a bit undersized at safety to help in run support.
